Income Qualification

Albany Pet Partners will serve a variety of clients in pursuit of its mission.  Please be prepared to provide printed documentation of income qualification for one of the 5 categories below:

NOTE: Income-qualified fees DO NOT apply to new puppies/kittens or for those doing planned breeding.

Category 1: Income Qualified through proof of income using most recent federal tax returns or 3 most recent pay stubs.  Figures represent income before deductions and taxes.

Or proof of current participation in one of the following programs:

  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Senior citizens on Social Security as sole income
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance
  • Unemployment Compensation
  • Social Security Disability
  • Other Pet Owners with special circumstances of financial hardship

Category 2:  Shelters, Animal Control Agencies and Humane Societies recognized as 501(c)(3) or governmental agencies

Category 3:  Referrals from area veterinarians for “affordability” reasons 

Category 4:  Feral/Neighborhood/Community cats, that is, cats that are not tame or may allow only minimal handling.  These cats must be presented in approved traps and either “ear-tipping” or micro-chipping is required at surgery. Click to read our Feral Cat Spay-Neuter information form.

Category 5:  Existing and new clients who embrace and wish to support our mission will be seen and charged reasonable and customary veterinary fees.
